Sustainability

At LandSouth Construction, we pride ourselves on both our sustainable building practices and our sustainable business practices. We incorporate green building processes on all projects regardless of the project's official designation.

Sustainable Building Practices

LandSouth Construction is committed to sustainable building practices and provides on-going education and consulting to owners seeking LEED certification for their projects. Within our firm, we have three (3) LEED AP Certified Professionals qualified to administer sustainability programs. Once engaged to implement such a program, we assemble a team of project managers, construction superintendents and LEED professionals for a pre-construction meeting with the client and applicable consultants to clearly identify overall sustainability goals. LandSouth Construction will then prepare an LSC Assessment Report (LSCAR) that summarizes the internal assessment of plans and specifications for sustainability compliance within the five (5) core areas:

  1. Sustainable site development
  2. Water savings
  3. Energy efficiency
  4. Materials and resources selection
  5. Indoor environmental quality

After the client determines the level of sustainability, LandSouth Construction will develop and implement an appropriate strategy specific to the project. Through weekly construction meetings and monthly project meetings, we ensure that the construction team is up to date on new technologies and sustainability procedures so that each member can contribute to the specified green building goals.

Over the past 15 years, LandSouth Construction has become very familiar with, and incorporated, many sustainable features into multifamily projects to enhance potential LEED certification.
